Michael Crichton’s The Lost World is set six years after Jurassic Park failed and the dinosaurs were supposedly destroyed does briefly describes a picnic lunch for the Bowman family, who have been traveling by Range Rover over Costa Rica’s bumpy roads to a deserted beach in search of adventure. But what begins leisurely is undercut by unexpected danger. Ellen Bowman is afraid of snakes. And eight-year-old Tina, however, is attacked by chicken-sized dinosaurs. Tina is saved in a timely fashion by Mom and Dad and taken to Punta Arenas. The bite marks are unidentified.
